big run-up since 2016 and 2017. the fourth head of uncertainty around the fed and trade in the idea that the 2019 profit outlook is being shaved. and look at the declines we had these major averages plus the s&p 500 tech indexd the small-c0 on bottom in a bear market since october 1. a tremendous switch in this but the major averages not surprisingly on pace for an annual decline. we seest since 2008 and this when he happened to the bloomberg, the major averages lower on the year, the worse the s&p 500 down about 6% in the reason it is the worst since 2008 is this big bull run. take a look at year after year of big gains for the major averages and when we put into context this year's declines relative to 2008 when the declines were closer to 40% of these declines are relatively small. it will be interesting to see what 2019 does bring. not surprisingly, if we take a look at some havens to across asset check here on the year, a bit of a mixed picture for the 10 year yield, we actually havee quarter on the quarter, we had a drop in yield, really counteracting that backup at .3%.point

interest implied a probability chart and it is interesting because as we know, the fed has a dot plot -- which tries to tell you what the individual voters think is going to happen to the federal funds rate over the coming year and yet, they predict the median of their projections is two increases. two quarter-point increases. if they are right, a year from now the federal funds rate would be .5% higher than it is now. let's contrast that with what the market says and that is what we see here through the miracle of bloomberg engineering, they have figured out how to read from the fed funds futures market what is likely to happen at any given the fed meeting over the coming year. the green line -- i am jumping to the bottom line. of green line is the most likely thing that is going to happen to the federal funds rate over 2019. one thing you notice without having to be highly financially sophisticated is it is flat, it is completely flat. what you cannot see is there are two other lines behind it hurried a yellow line, a second most likely probability and a redline, a third-most l
